A little about us....
Second Grade students paint their "Dream Houses" inspired the book The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Pinkwater
-In the "Teacher Blog" section you will find all of the projects that we have completed grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Each post will have a short description of the project and as many pictures as I can get in to each one! You also might find some daily happenings in the art room as well as updates on events.
-In the "Student Blog" section you will find updates from the 8th graders art work. Each student will write posts periodically with an update on what they are learning, how their project is going, how their project ended up being, and their growth as an artist. -In the "For Students" section you will find resources and ideas that I have found for my students. This includes resources for our projects, fun art ideas that we won't have time to get to in our artroom, as well as some projects they can do in the summer time to keep their artist brains going. |
Welcome to the Hesston Elementary School and Middle School art room blog! Here I, and a few of my students, will share updates from the two classrooms.
In our two rooms I have students grades kindergarten through eighth grade. The Elementary students (K-4) meet with me every other week for 45 minutes. The Middle School Students meet with me every day for 30 minutes. In that time we create as many pieces of art as we can! We study different artists and styles, we take inspiration from books or study things in nature, and we study different cultures and places. Our goal is to try out as many things as we can and to become the wonderful artists that we are all capable of becoming! In my room students are encouraged to try their very best on every project that we do. My hope is that they will learn to express themselves and to feel comfortable doing so. |
